Es ist der 2. Februar, Murmeltiertag: Für eine Reportage über das alljährliche Wettervorhersage-Ritual verschlägt es den sarkastischen, verbitterten, stets miesgelaunten und unfreundlichen Wettermann Phil Connors, seine Produzentin Rita und den Kameramann Larry in das kleine Provinznest Punxsutawney. Ein ganz normaler Tag. Phil berichtet vom Murmeltier, das alljährlich aus seinem Bau gelockt wird, um das Wetter der kommenden Zeit vorherzusagen. Nebenbei flirtet er ein wenig mit Rita und gibt sich gewohnt sarkastisch-zynisch. Als Phil jedoch am darauffolgenden Tag aufwacht, ist dummerweise wieder der 2. Februar und außer ihm scheint niemand diese Wiederholung zu bemerken.

Fantastic watch, will watch again, and do recommend. Bill Murray carries this time-shift-loop adventure in hilarious form. The writing is excellent with a "redeemable protagonist" trope mixed in.
