Auf heißer Fährte
Der flüchtige Bankräuber Jim Larson (Fred MacMurray) will das Land verlassen. Unter falschem Namen lässt er sich in einem Grenzort nieder, wo er sich in die junge Witwe Ellen Bailey (Dorothy Green) verliebt. Als ihr Bruder Mark (Lin McCarthy), der Sheriff des Ortes, in Lebensgefahr gerät, entschließt sich Jim zu bleiben und den Bruder der geliebten Frau zu retten.
