Biografie
Bernard Bresslaw, ein RADA-Stipendiat, der von Laurence Olivier entdeckt wurde, erhielt durch die „Carry On“-Filme professionelle Sicherheit, wurde aber auf diesen Rollentypus festgelegt (wie zuvor schon die Fernsehserie „The Army Game“ (1957)). Er begann, sich durch Bühnenarbeit weiterzuentwickeln, als er 1993, kurz vor einer Aufführung von „Der Widerspenstigen Zähmung“ im Regent’s Park in London, einen Herzinfarkt erlitt und im Alter von 59 Jahren starb.
