Nyssen (Lars Eidinger) welcomes his guests from business and politics. On the Reichstag, the first flames ignite. A bomb detonates at the castle. Whoever makes a speech now is dedicated to death. Too late, Rath (Volker Bruch) recognizes the momentous error of the hour. In the Reichstag, he goes through the trauma of his life a second time. Anyone who escapes the flames will have to leave Germany tomorrow. The dark age begins. The dance is over.

An atmosphere of German 20's chic permeates Babylon Berlin. Its a detective tale at its heart that initially captures the vibe of a decade that celebrated a newfound carefree freedom.
