L’Enfance d’Ivan
Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, un jeune garçon de 10 ans et sa mère contemplent la paisible campagne qui s’étale sous leurs yeux. Soudain, un coup de feu éclate. L’enfant réapparaît, sortant d'une maison en ruines. Au poste de police, le garçon, Ivan Bondarev, transi et mouillé, refuse de répondre aux questions du lieutenant Galtsev, mais accepte de parler au capitaine Kholine. Entre l’enfant et le capitaine naît une solide et touchante amitié. Ivan accepte alors de dangereuses missions d'espionnage dans le camp allemand pour le compte de l'armée soviétique…
