Jim McAllister a bien l'intention de donner une leçon de démocratie à ses étudiants en proposant un candidat de son cru pour l'élection à la présidence du conseil du lycée George-Washington-Carver d'Omaha. En effet, ce candidat, Paul Metzler, qui a pour atout d'être le héros de l'équipe de football du lycée, va devoir affronter Tracy Flick, la fille la plus active de l'établissement, dévorée d'ambition et qui considère ses années de lycée comme la première étape d'une longue et brillante carrière.

'Election' builds relatively slowly though really does become a fun movie by its conclusion. It's most definitely worth a watch. Matthew Broderick is excellent throughout, as are the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Chris Klein. The films goes to some unexpected places and manages to make it work. And there's a great callback in there too. I will say that I didn't love the internal monologue bits…
