Un sogno lungo un giorno
Il 4 luglio, festa dell'indipendenza, è il giorno più lungo per Hank e Franny. Lui conosce un'acrobata di un circo, lei ha una storia con un cantante di origini latine. Alla fine tornano insieme. La storia è un po' scontata, ma l'omaggio di Coppola al cinema classico era sincero e le tecniche con cui ha girato il film erano rivoluzionarie. Fu un fiasco colossale, che mandò al fallimento la Zoetrope, casa di produzione di Coppola. Superba fotografia di Storaro e grande colonna sonora di Tom Waits.
