Oklahoma, 1889. Jed Cooper viene ingiustamente condannato all'impiccagione per aver comprato inconsapevolmente del bestiame rubato. Salvato in extremis dal giudice Fenton, assume la carica di sceriffo rivelandosi un ottimo tutore della legge. Ma quando i suoi precedenti aguzzini gli tendono nuovamente un agguato, non gli resterà altro da fare che vendicarsi.

'Hang ’em High' is entertaining stuff. I personally think the first half is much stronger than the second half, which loses its way a tad and ends up concluding in a perfectly good but not as great way as what I had wanted - based on the impressive opening hour or so.
