女子テニスプレーヤーのビリー・ジーン・キング（エマ・ストーン）は、女子選手の優勝賞金が男子選手の8分の1であることなど男性優位主義に不満を募らせていた。男女平等を求めるために仲間とテニス協会を脱退した彼女は、女子選手の地位向上を掲げた女子テニス協会を立ち上げる。そんなビリーに元男子チャンピオンのボビー・リッグス（スティーヴ・カレル）が男性優位主義代表として対決を申し込むが、それには妻に逃げられた彼にとっての人生逆転の意味合いもあった。

Emma Stone and Steve Carell are terrific. 'Battle of the Sexes' is an interesting look on the famous tennis match from 1973 between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.
