ゲームセンターを経営している元コンピュータ技師(ジェフ・ブリッジス)は、自分を首にした会社社長(デイヴィッド・ワーナー)の不正を暴くべく会社に潜入するが、そこで罠にかかってコンピュータ世界の中に閉じこめられてしまう。やがて彼は全プログラムが支配する兵士たちに追われながらも、不正の捜査を続けるプログラムと協力しあい、敵の陰謀を打ち砕いていく…。
