미드나잇 카우보이
출세에 목을 맨 텍사스 촌뜨기 존은 접시 닦이 일을 그만두고 뉴욕으로 짐을 싼다. 하지만 그의 야심찬 포부는 폐병 환자 사기꾼 라쏘를 만나면서 무참히 부서진다. 조는 가진 돈 전부를 라쏘에게 사기당하고 빈털터리가 되어 그를 찾아 나선다. 하지만 돈은 커녕 눈에 보이는 거라고는 폐병으로 죽어가는 참혹한 라쏘의 모습 뿐이다. 이들 사이에 묘한 우정이 싹트고, 도시 생활에 지쳐버린 존은 병들어 죽어가는 라쏘의 소원대로 따뜻한 마이애미로 떠나기로 하는데...
