후계자
LA 경찰국 소속 강력계 형사인 닉은 동료경찰 파월과 함께 자동차 탈취범스트롬과 로코 일당의 범행 현장을 덮친다. 하지만 교활한 스트롬의 술수에 말려 파월만 무참히 살해되고 스트롬 일당을 놓치고 만다. 이로 인해 닉은 새로운 동료인 데이비드를 맞아들여 스트롬 일당의 뒤를 추적한다. 그러나 신출내기인 데다 동생의 죽음으로 마음속에 강박관념을 지닌 데이비드는 그리 큰 도움이 못되는 인물. 어느 날 스트롬 일당이 도박장을 털계획임을 알아낸 닉은 다시 수사망을 좁힌다...

Pretty paint-by-numbers buddy-cop movie where Eastwood pretty much plays a Harry Callahan and Charlie Sheen completely miscast as the titular rookie character. Raul Julia, a Puetro Rican playing a German, seemed to be having a good time at least.
