1963년 베이비(제니퍼 그레이)라는 애칭의 프란시스는 의사인 아버지 제이크(제리 오바하)와 어머니 마조리, 언니 리사와 함께 켈러만 산장으로 피서를 간다. 같은 또래의 젊은이들이 많이 있는 그곳에서는 저녁이면 댄스 파티를 즐긴다. 그러다 베이비는 댄스 교사 자니(패트릭 스웨이즈)와 그의 파트너인 페니(신시아 로즈)가 추는 춤에 매료된다. 베이비는 임신한 페니 대신 댄스 경연대회에 나가기 위해 연습을 하고 춤을 추면서 자니와 베이비는 사랑에 빠진다. 그러나 페니가 돌팔이 의사에게 중절수술을 받고 사경을 헤매게 되지만 의사인 베이비 아버지의 도움으로 살아나지만 자니는 아이의 아버지로 오인받고 해고된다. 피서 마지막 발표회에서 돌연 등장한 자니는 베이비와 환상적 더티댄싱을 선보인다.

A pretty simplistic film with a plot that's more of an excuse to show dance scenes and an extremely surface level handling of the issues of gender and class that it raises, but it's pretty cute and also I'm bisexual so I like it anyway.
An ok movie. A lot of cheesy parts that I didn't like. I did like the dancing and the love story. I guess it was better at that time.
