Uzay Yolu serisinin dokuzuncu sinema filmidir.Uzay gemisi Atılgan'da görevli personelden Ön Yüzbaşı Data, barışçıl Ba'ku halkını gözlemlemek üzere gittiği bir gezegende ansızın kontrol edilemeyen davranışlar sergilemeye başlar. Bunun üzerine gezegene çağırılan USS Enterprise ekibi, Data'yı normal haline geri döndürdükten sonra, yıldız filosu amirali Matthew Dougherty'nin gezegenden ayrılmalarını istemeleriyle şüpheye düşer.Gezegenden ayrılmayan USS Enterprise ekibi, LaForge' un gözlerinin yeniden görmesi gibi bazı tuhaf gelişmelere şahit olunca bu gezegendeki özel doğaüstü durumu ve Son'a adındaki, kendi gezegenleri yokolmuş bir halkın bu gezegen üzerindeki gizli planlarını ortaya çıkarmaya başlarlar.
