这是一部基于朝鲜建国的历史事实上，添加有关恶灵和驱魔主义题材想象力的作品。围绕着太宗和两个儿子忠宁、让宁之间错综复杂的欲望，以及与觊觎这份欲望的恶灵展开对决。讲述没有足够力量推翻古王朝的李成桂和先祖穆祖、翼祖、桓祖为了建国而寻求教皇厅的帮助，教皇厅支持朝鲜建国，以取代佛教国家“高丽”。为了获得全新的臣民，当时动员的是西域的驱魔师以及驱魔师召唤来的不死生物，朝鲜建国后，被李氏王朝彻底杀害的隐匿的不死生物们再次复活而引发的故事。
