HBO正式预定Amy Adams主演《利器 Sharp Objects》，首季为8集。 《利器》小说发布于2006年，讲述的是Amy Adams将饰演的记者Camile Preaker，刚刚从精神病院出来就面临了不少麻烦：她必须回到她的家乡小镇去报道两名未成年少女的谋杀事件。Camile一直和她的母亲还有同母异父的古怪妹妹很疏远，但却被逼和她们住在一起。此外随着调查的深入，她发现自己和被害者有很多共同点，在战胜自己心魔的同时她还要慢慢挖掘故事的真相。 Amy Adams转战电视屏幕的《利器》，是《消失的爱人 Gone Girl》作者Gillian Flynn的处女作。该剧将由Jean-Marc Vallee执导。该剧早在《消失的爱人》火遍全球之前就已被提上拍摄计划。该剧将由Marti Noxon执笔改编，Noxon和Flynn也会共同制片。 Amy Adams曾拍摄了《超人：钢铁之躯 Man of Steel》，《她 Her》，并凭借《大眼睛 Big Eyes》获得了奥斯卡女主角提名。

卡蜜儿与家人一起吃晚餐，为了转移阿朵拉对艾玛的注意力而假装生病。阿朵拉给卡蜜儿服下对待另外两个女儿所惯用的毒鼠药，险些让她丧命。幸亏卡蜜儿的上司柯瑞与警探理查及时赶到，卡蜜儿和艾玛被送到医院抢救成功。理查还在阿朵拉家中发现了带血的尖嘴钳，DNA与被谋杀的两个少女相匹配，阿朵拉随后被批捕入狱。艾玛搬到了卡蜜儿在圣路易斯的住所，结识了新同伴梅。但是在其后的某天，梅失踪了。卡蜜儿在艾玛的玩具娃娃房中发现了其中一间的地板上铺满了人的牙齿，艾玛请求卡蜜儿不要将这件事告诉妈妈。在片尾的演职员表字幕中，呈现了凶案场景，艾玛和她的朋友们杀害了安、娜塔莉和梅，以及树林边身着白衣的艾玛。
