本剧主要讲述了FBI如何抓住那些声名狼藉的“优秀”罪犯，第一季将着眼于FBI探员Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald，一个不习惯用老方法收集情报的专门语言学家。他用自己非传统的方法让藏匿了近20年的“大学炸弹客/隐形炸弹/Unabomber”被绳之以法，关键之处就在于他发现了“大学炸弹客”的真实身份可能隐藏在他的"宣言"中，而这个"宣言"也是Kaczynski众多阴谋之一。Paul Bettany饰演被称为“大学炸弹客”的Ted Kaczynski，而John Berchtold将饰演年轻时代的Ted Kaczynski。

Eh....I really don't know how much of this movie is true. How many people are amalgamations. Some of the people depicted, especially the FBI agents, they seem too much to be true, too much a caricature, too good to be true.
